Katdana

Katdana is the small faceted bead set by hand, one at a time, into a pattern — here across the yoke and down the front and sleeve, on zoom satin that holds the weight and on tiktok for a lighter piece. It catches light the way sequins do without the flash, which is why these are the abayas bought for a wedding guest, a nikkah or a dinner. The zoom pieces have silk tassel ties at the neck; the black tiktok pieces are the most formal.
